⦁ Maples are deciduous or exotic tress i.e. they lose their leaves in winter
⦁ They are renowned for their amazing colours during autumn.
⦁ Maple syrup is a bi-product along with their wood which is used for furniture
⦁ The wood has a good grain and light colour
⦁ Maples can grow from around 10 to 40m in height
⦁ The roots are not deep less than 30cm
Activities
- Locate 4 separate photographs of Maples in NZ one for each season Starting in Spring
- Locate leaves of the Maple and form a dried leaf collection, you may have to do some research on how best to preserve leaves you could make a nice gift using dried maple leaves.
